Although
Bahama Buck's is known for its great service, Clay
takes customer service to a new level. "Ever seen
anyone do a standing back flip for the crowd?" asks
Clay, "I've only landed one perfectly to date, but
the customers love it when I try!"
And
love him they should. As an expert at his trade,
Clay specializes in knowing his customers names
and ordering habits. "Here comes Wanda," notices
Clay, "Blue truck, drive thru ... she always orders
a Large Wavebender, two cherries, no whipped cream
and always has exact change." Always? Clay grins
as Wanda pays with exact change. King for a day.
"Clay
has his regulars who always come to see him."
Manager James Delgado comments, "He interacts
well with adults, kids, pets - anyone. He has a
real gift for customer service." Regarding
Clay's first day, Delgado remembers "The first
time I met Clay he was real quiet. I think I caught
him on an off day."
Everyday
has been "on" since then. "There's never a dull
moment with Clay. Daily he shouts out movie lines,
entertains customers and keeps a good story going
around here," says Delgado.
"It's
all part of our culture." General Manager Sarah
Zouzalik agrees, "Clay is phenomenal at making you
smile, regardless of the day. He makes everything
funny."
And
why shouldn't it be fun? Clay believes the Avalanche
Crew to be an extension of his family. "They're
all my friends. We're a really tight group, and
it makes everything gel at Bahama Buck's" says Clay,
"There is always something crazy happening around
here."
The
Lubbock Avalanche Crew is a tight knit group. "Interaction
is the name of the game, even outside of work."
states Clay. From golf days to home run derbies,
Clay finds time to get together with the "Crew"
to have some fun and relax. Manager Ryan Callison
states, "Clay and I get really competitive when
it comes to golf. Sometimes I win, sometimes he
wins - but we always have fun."
